Obsessions

Choo-Choos
Every morning, as soon as we finish breakfast, Kempton locates a few mismatched pairs of shoes for mom and himself expecting to head out to Barnes & Noble to visit the Thomas Train Table. He's working hard to make it part of the daily routine. Earlier this week we was so caught up in excitement that he said "Bye Thomas" as he waved farewell to dad.

High School Musical 3
He's been dancing and singing along with the songs for quite some time and he's actually got some skills (to Jake's utter dismay). He's broadened his spectrum in allowing "Hoops" to be played almost as often as "Backy".

Temples
Ever since our FHE on Temples several weeks ago Kempton is obsessed with pointing out temples in the Ensign and Friend magazines. Too bad he doesn't pay such close attention at every FHE.

Food, of course, namely...
Meat
Ever proving that he is in fact Jake's son, whenever I ask Kempton what he wants to eat (be it breakfast, lunch or dinner) he requests "MEAT!!!" The reality is that he's actually a pretty horrible meat eater so I can't figure out what's up with the repeated request?!

Bananas
Kempton and Jake down this lovely yellow fruit like it's going out of style. They can also frequently be found performing the song and dance routine, "Bananas of the Universe Unite!" (And Jake makes fun of HSM?!)

Chocolate
Who doesn't list this among their obsessions?
This week our Playgroup took a field trip to the Dixon Springs Chocolate Factory...
Where we saw a demonstration on how the chocolates are made and packaged.
Kempton selected a chocolate Tractor for himself, and I took bundle of Haystacks home to share with Jake.
The all day Playgroup Event had an excellent turn-out with 16 adults and 45 children in attendance (not all are pictured below.)
All 61 of us headed over to the State Park across the street for a picnic lunch, followed by a mini hike to see the spring.
It doesn't look like much here, but after risking our lives inching over slippery rocks and through dangerous (who knows what's living inside) crevices, we felt like we'd found a real treasure.
All I can say about these last two shots is that you never know what you're going to get when you hand the camera over to an innocent bystander.

So Many Favorites on My Birthday

... AND...

*A gift certificate for the promise of a complaint free game night!
(In case you noticed games as a personal favorite missing from this list.)

*A whole slew of cards, calls, and electronic forms of well wishes! Thanks to everyone for thinking of me on my special day!!

Picture Perfect Gift

When Hilary was in town back in September, she got an early start on my birthday present- a family photo shoot.
What an AMAZING gift! (Double meaning intended.)

The last two were taken by Chris Nash, who needed some subjects for a class assignment. He happened to share the results just in time for my birthday!!
